Day 6 - Section 5

Well today is marked as "Very Hard Grade" and that it was !  Lots of climbing and extremely hot.

We were up at crack of dawn again, had our Breaky and headed off. It's so cold of a morning and comes out so hot not long after you start trekking.

We started our walk climbing through Spencer Gorge which was just spectacular with its narrow red walls.

We leave there and keep going up - the view down the valley and mountains is spectacular.   We finally got to the top of Razor Back Ridge and got to see the most incredible views - it truly is impossible to describe the view.

After a yummy lunch of salad wraps and ending with a block of chocolate, we were fuelled up and it was time to hike again.

We carefully trekked along the ridge and up the Linear Valley to Hugh Gorge.  The Gorge just never seemed to end.  We had trekked for 9 hours and were exhausted.

Finally the Gorge came to an end and we had come to the end of our day.

Everyone had done the best job today and kept each other's spirits up along the way.

Today we did around 24,000 steps and according to Fi's Garmin walked up 74 flights of steps.

We are in our camp now sitting around the camp fire and waiting for dinner.  We are having kangaroo tonight.

Comment from Rach:
Challenging but spectacular

Comment from Em:
The evening wilderness was very exciting -  I felt like I was 5 years old again.

Time to rest up our feet.

Until tomorrow
