Coming down the mountain seemed to take forever! The downhill was definately playing havoc with our knees and feet.
We finally reached the troopies and a big shout went up and group hug was had. Everyone was so proud of each other - 260 kms was done.
We jumped in the troopies and went back to camp after almost 10 hours. Kenna and Stella had prepared an awesome brunch of bacon, eggs, haloumi, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, avocado and sourdough for us.
When we finished we had a bird bath and took the tape off our toes before going into our swags for a nap. Our guides warned us to only have a small nap as otherwise the "jet lagged" feeling of "Sonder hangover" would set in. We set our alarms for 2.30 pm and it was so hard to drag ourselves out of bed - the "Sonder hangover" is real !!!!!
That's it for now everyone. We are having a little celebration and remembrance service for our CQ kids tonight and tomorrow we have another 8 km walk before we head back to Alice.
26,000 steps walked and 174 stories of steps !
Thanks for all the support and please keep sending messages - we LOVE them.
